God called Pastor Mack Rogers to start a brand new cowboy church in September of 2013 in Mack & Cheryl’s home in Sherman, Texas, along with one other couple. Dr. Robert McDonald, District Superintendent of the Dallas District Church of the Nazarene(now North/East Texas District), appointed Mack Rogers as the pastor of the new church, and assisted the church in registering with the State of Texas as a new non-profit corporation(church).
The four original folks soon met at a local restaurant for about 2 months. In December of 2013, the first worship service beyond the restaurant was held at the Boaz Heating and Air building in Sherman, TX with 8 people in attendance. The new cowboy church met there for 2 ½ years before outgrowing that facility.
After an extensive search, 20 beautiful acres of ranch land were found for sale two miles north of Whitesboro, TX on US Hwy 377 North. With the help of the Dallas District, the land was purchased. A beautiful 6000 sq. ft. metal building was built, again with help from the Dallas District. The building was completed and we moved into it for our first permanent worship service June 5, 2016. We had 178 in attendance and 10 people were saved!
Praise God for the many who have attended and the many who have been saved in our five year history! To God be the glory!
